Cinematic Storytelling* 3 Days - Advanced!

Zeitraum: 11.05.2026 – 13.05.2026

Bewerbungsschluss: 02.05.2026

Dozent*innen: Welker White & Damian Young from NYC

Typ: Einzeltermin

Ort: Berlin

Beschreibung:

Actors are led through a range of original filmed, ‘short-form’ exercises devised to strengthen moment-to-moment work and truthful behavioral language. Alongside viewing their own work alongside specific film clips, actors begin to integrate an understanding of how meaning is assigned in visual stories. As we progress, actors move to working on fully ‘covered’ (ie: a range of camera shots and angles) dialogue scenes pulled from a range of scenes. The overarching goal of the week is to leave actors with a solid understanding of the language of cinematic stories, and how the internal and external expression of the actor is an essential storytelling tool. All recorded work is viewed, analyzed, and discussed. All takes from filmed scene work is sent to actors at end of intensive. “I’ve known Welker and Damian for 30 years. They bring rare extensive experience across the spectrum of film and television to bear on a unique approach that inspires actors to develop and own their artistic process onscreen. Find a way to work with them!” – Allison Janney, Emmy, Oscar, Golden Globe winner – “The West Wing”, “To Leslie”, “I, Tonya”, “The Hours”, “American Beauty“ All recorded work is viewed, analyzed, and discussed. All takes from filmed scene work is sent to actors at end of intensive.
