BERLIN METHOD ACTING WORKSHOP WITH ROBERT CASTLE INTERNATIONAL THEATRE NEW YORK

During 2 weeks Robert Castle, a seasoned actor/director and long-time coach, and Alejandra Orozco, an award-winning stage actress, will run one of their internationally successful ‘Method Acting’ workshops. The uniqueness of their method is an evolution of ‘Method Acting‘.

A daily 6-8 hours training of relaxation, sense memory exercises, and scene/monologue work will develop your artistic instrument over a long period of time. Robert Castle has trained many prominent actors, and has worked as an actor or director with modern luminaries such as Sean Penn, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeff Goldblum, George Segal, Jane Fonda, Angie Dickenson, and many others.

Each actor will be working on a scene and a monologue, always from great writers. We provide the scripts, and pair the actor with a scene partner before the workshop starts. The actors have the opportunity of getting on stage several times with their scenes during the course of the workshop. The scenes are worked on experientially. For this reason, text analysis is not done as a sit-down academic exercise, but rather as an ongoing discovery of the life of the character and the world of the play or film.

This experience is also very enriching for dancers, singers, writers, directors, and other creatives of the theatre and film industry. There is the possibility of passive participation (viewing) as well.
