Telling stories is one of the most human things in the world.
From the ancient greek dramas that taught us about hybris and the downsides of marrying your own mother (Oedipus made a great example there!) to the urban legends and the everyday anecdotes.
With stories, we colour our lives and learn from mistakes before we make them ourselves. And to be honest, sitting around the dinner table sharing experiences and stories just never gets old. As actors, we are essentially storytellers. Every movement we make, every word we speak and every emotion expressed in our faces tells a story.
But without a script and a pre-written story to portray, how do we collectively make up an entirely new one? This workshop aims to explore ways of telling stories to the audience through improvised theatre.
We will be working with expression, narration, teamwork and imagination to find new ways to both find and tell our own amazing stories. Because great stories can change the world.
